OECD says economic activity in Russia flat on month in June

MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s economic activity remained flat on the month in June as the Composite Leading Indicators (CLI) index calculated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the country stayed at 100.9 in the month, the OECD said in a research note on Tuesday.

“Amongst other major emerging economies, the CLIs continue to anticipate stable growth momentum in India while in Russia tentative signs of easing growth remain,” the research note read.

In developed countries, CLIs of the U.K., the U.S., Italy, and Japan also remained flat on the month at 99.6 points, 99.7 points, 100.1 points, and 100.2 points in June, respectively. In France, the indicator grew to 100.7 points from 100.6 points, while in China it rose to 100 points from 99.7 points. The aggregate CLI for all OECD countries remained at 100 points.

“Composite leading indicators (CLIs), designed to anticipate turning points in economic activity relative to trend six to nine months ahead, continue to anticipate stable growth momentum in the

OECD area as a whole,” the OECD said.
